Weston Super Mare Boats
Withies are cut willows that are used for basket making and other woven cane uses.
They are widely grown in the Somerset levels. There are still some craftsmen and women at work today
in places like
The Willow and Wetlands Centre
Less flare on the sides to take a smaller but heavier load. Like the turf boat, the bottom is truly flat.
